Boarding and Training

VLRA offers a variety of services for your equestrian needs. 

We are pleased to offer a full boarding and training facility geared to families. VLRA is situtiated on just over 13 acres in Wilson County. The stable features 12  12 x 12  matted stalls with room to grow. There is a hot and cold wash bay area, large office, lounge and tack area and indoor riding aisle way for inclement weather. The stable is outfitted with  5 large pastures for pasture board with shelter and turn out for stabled horses, an 85' x 200, lighted riding arena, 50' round pen and a maintained trail all the way around the farm for trail riding or jogging horses. Offering excellent care and references provided. Located on Packhouse Road and easily accessed by I95, Hwy 58, Hwy 264, and alt 264.


Boarding: Call for current rates and availability.

Full Board: 12 x 12 stalls with mats and fly spray system

Feeding 2x daily Purina and Nutrena High Quality Feed

Hay 2x daily Orchard Grass or Timothy Orchard mix

Individual and small group turn out, weather permitting.

Blanketing if needed.

Stalls cleaned daily.

Regular Farrier and Vet scheduled visits. ($10 holding fee to stand with farrier per horse, not applicable to horses in training.)

Pasture Board: Call for current rates and availability.

Includes grain 2x and hay. Shelter provided.

Training: $750 includes 4 lessons per month and full board.

Training and conditioning of the horse is available. Holly uses several methods to keep horses conditioned by lining, jogging, lounging, hand walking and riding. Holly will adjust the proper training and conditioning schedule for the horse. Horses in training are also clipped biweekly and holding for farrier appointments is courtesy.

~ $50.00 per lesson unless purchasing a package.

~ 1 month private lessons:  ( 4 lessons scheduled ) $180 

        Students must be enrolled in the academy program to ensure proper scheduling.

~ 2 months private lessons: $360  ( 8 lessons scheduled and 1 free lesson )

~ Boarders Lesson Discount: $35 per lesson


Other Services provided by VLRA:

Birthday Parties: $300 for 10 children and $10 for each additional child. Let VLRA host your next birthday party. Party goers will learn to groom, ride our lesson horses, play horse related games and make a craft. 2.5 hours of fun, fun, fun! 

Lounging: $15 per session

Riding or exercising horses: $25 per session

Clipping: Ears, muzzle, bridle path: $20

Body clipping: $125 plus charge of sedation if needed

Trace clipping: $65

Hauling: $1.00 - $1.50 per mile


Horse Shows:

Hauling may be billed separately and payable to the hauler or billed by VLRA. 

Tri - County Shows

$100 per rider - preparation, supplies, and coaching

$75 per rider - if you own your own horse or lease

$65 per rider - leadline or Starter Rider classes


Open Shows:

$75 per rider per day or per horse if you are showing more than one horse.

( If less than 4 going, rate will be $85 per horse )

Tack Stalls and Trainer's hotel: pro rated per # of horses or riders whichever is greater.


"A" rated shows: 

$85 per day, per horse. 

( If less than 4 going, rate will be $200 per horse.)

Tack stalls and Trainer's hotel: prorated per # of horses or riders whichever is greater.


Buying or Selling:

A 10% commission fee will be charged on representation of all sales or purchases.

Lease fee of $150 will be charged on lease of any horse.


Late Fee and returned check fees:

A fee of $25.00 is applied to all returned checks and also for payments not made by the 10th of the current month. A $50.00 late fee is applied to all outstanding balances not paid by the 20th of the current month. We accept paypal, venmo, checks,and CASH.
